Saint Viator

He lives in Lyon (France), in the late fourth century.

Disciple and collaborator of St. Justus, Bishop of Lyons, as a catechist-lector and leader of the liturgy.

His figure was really important for Louis Querbes: he is a model and patron of his new family. For this reason he gives the name of Parish Priests and Catechists of Saint Viator to his congregation.

He explains it in this way: "The single lector spent most of his time instructing children in the rudiments of faith, and contributing to the splendor of worship under the care of the altar. Such was the ministry which, under the gaze and direction of St. Fair St. Viator exercised. The protection of this saint is entrusted our Catechists Society, which honors his name. "

His feast day is October 21.
