Father Luis Querbes

Born on 21 August 1793 in Lyon.

Pastor of Vourles, a town near Lyon, from 1822 until his death in 1859.

Given the situation of religious indifference, neglect of children and young people without education or religious training, and the high priests living loneliness of the people, conceived the first idea of the association in 1826.

On September 21, 1838 was approved in Rome Clerics Association or Parish Catechists of Saint Viator, but only as a congregation.

He died on 1 September 1859, and currently work is in line to continue to publicize the figure, the thinking and the sanctity of P Querbes in order to be able to introduce the cause within a period not too long.

The AsociaciónEl P. Querbes thought of a partnership that could be priests, celibate, married, and later, religious.

This project was ahead of its time: it was adopted in Rome.

Since 1980, "viatorianas communities" are formed by associates and religious.
